Cliff Martin

I spent more than 30 years working as a sub-editor and production editor on various national newspapers. Until taking early retirement in 2022 I edited on the Comment section of The Times. I live in West London with my wife Angela, a university lecturer, and our children, Isabel, who works in publishing, Luke, who is a teacher, and Oliver, who is studying for his A-levels. My hobbies include painting and ceramics, gardening and hiking on the South West Coast Path. I've always loved reading children's books to my own kids so I'm thrilled to have finally written one of my own.

Help! Children Have Taken Over the World

28 Aug 2023

Imagine a world where children get to make the rules…

After zany scientist Max Splatter invents a breakfast cereal designed to boost children’s brainpower, strange things start happening.

Follow three ordinary children, Patch Patterson, Fred Crosby and Romany Wishbone, as they discover astonishing new powers and begin getting their own back on the grown-ups who’ve been making their lives a misery.

When the adults begin fighting back, the kids organise a rebellion to do battle with the prime minister, George Bourne-Tarool, and the entire British army…
