Gill Rowe

Gill Rowe has worked as a freelance journalist and teacher. She also paints and has exhibited in London and elsewhere. Married, with children and grandchildren, she lives in London. Over the years canine family members have included Cairn Terriers, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Dachshunds and Labradors.

Gill says, “I was first inspired to write about dogs when I came across two very engaging personalities – a French Poodle and a Pekinese – who were staying in the same hotel in the South of France. I went on to write about dogs in our family and one day, in our local park, observing the antics of a curious crossbreed individual playing with a beautiful fluffy creature which turned out to be a Havanese, it occurred to me that it would be fun to create an A to Z of dogs. Dogs come in all shapes and sizes. The choice of breed is astonishing, and this collection is, necessarily, selective. Many breeds featured in Tails You Win will be old favourites, others less familiar. I hope readers will find them engaging.”
