Author Chris Vale was born in Manchester, the youngest child of a vicar and was raised in Rivington. Christine went to Grammar School and then came to Leicester to study French, Latin and English Literature. After meeting and marrying a Guernsey man, Christine moved to Guernsey in the Channel Islands where she still resides today.
Christine was a novice as the only woman in a brass band when her conductor heard one of her mistakes and said “I wonder what a whole band of women would sound like.” – This gave Christine the inspiration to write her first novel, Brassy Women which was published by the Book Guild. The characters in the book further inspired Listen, It’s Wednesday. Christine has also previously published a few Kindle titles.
