Not so!

A lord and his lady produce eight children, who come of age in the 1930s. The young people are brilliant and ambitious. They believe they can and they must change the world. Ominously, they are filled with good intentions.

This book is a tragic-comedy. It is a satire. It satirises the deductions, plans, solutions of human problems and political reforms, a whole new social order devised by idealists, with which we are still saddled today, at the start of the twenty-first century

Is Julian Fane reinterpreting the message of the signposts on the road to hell? His light touch is deceptive, it can seem to accentuate the comedy rather than the tragedy. His umpteenth book will be an 'easy read' for some, and no doubt provocative for others. It surely proves that the author is even more inventive the older he grows.
