Author: Wriggley An unvarnished but polished account of RAF life for a young man posted to Ballykelly in Northern Ireland servicing (among other things) the fearsome fleet of Coastal Command Shackletons. This is a great page turner describing an era when Britain thought it ruled the world, beer was two bob a pint and sex was something hidden on the top shelf at the newsagents. This is not book for the politically correct or the faint hearted, and anyone with a weak stomach and false teeth should avoid Chapter 10. But it?s packed with useful information for the adventurous traveler to exotic places wanting to get closer to the locals, and tips on how to deal with tricky problems such as when the taxi driver does not have change.
Pour yourself a Guinness sit in a comfy chair and don?t spill it when you laugh.
