Taking a Chance

Taking a Chance
Taking a Chance is set against the backdrop of the Chitpaavan Brahmin emigration from Western India to the UK and in this, the final volume in the triology, we follow Meena, a second-generation immigrant living in London, on her path towards happiness.

Having survived a disastrous marriage, Meena has high hopes and goals for her future. Keen to establish her independence as a strong individual, she strives for success in both her work as a qualified pharmacist, and for love and sexual fulfilment in her personal life. Her story introduces new friendships and is cleverly interwoven with insights into her cultural heritage as she keeps some of the Chitpaavan traditions of her parents and becomes a British woman of the 80s.

Will she establish a business against the odds? Will she find the love she so desires? Will she fulfil her dream of becoming a mother? She certainly has the courage to take a chance in life‚ but just where will it lead her?
