Lord of the Lightning

A space vehicle thousands of years old is unearthed in a tunnel in the Caucasus. The vehicle contains a power that can transform human life. But that power is to be controlled by a ruthless business tycoon named Malvol, working with his glamorous executive Melaina Halfacre. Malvol will use the alien technology to dominate the world – unless a group of young people can prevent it. Or unless a fate still worse overtakes planet Earth. Penelope Wainwright is a university student and a wheelchair user. Her friends include Blake Harmon, a brilliant athlete of Caribbean origin, Patsy McGuire, an Irish-American girl who is a computer whizz, and Monty Freedman, a boy who knows more about physics than his lecturers. Then there is the hyper-intelligent Leonardo - a Siamese cat. The story travels back and forth in time, as the Ancient Greek gods wield their power, attempting to change the course of events at crucial points in human history. As they struggle among themselves, whose side are they on, and who can be trusted? Is the will of Zeus to be thwarted? Can a group of gifted university students and a sapient cat save the human race?
