Ten-year-old Katie is bored - there's just nothing to do. Nothing, that is, until she is visited by Droplets - strange little creatures from a land over the rainbow who take her on a magical adventure.

She's not going alone: her cat Max reluctantly agrees to come, and so does her little brother, Ben, along with his cuddly Mr Wabbit, as they have never seen him before. The little party, accompanied by the Droplets, set out on the ride of their life. They travel over the rainbow to a beautiful land, where they are amazed by sights they could never have imagined.

But the Droplets are on a mission - Mother Earth has asked them to help save the world by reducing the waste of water. Gradually they persuade Katie to help and, when tragedy strikes, she realises that saving water is a matter of life or death.
