Forbidden Lives

Millie is a troubled teenager from a disrupted family background. This naive and impressionable young girl seeks love and acceptance above all else. Not knowing the full story, she does not understand why the adults in her life treat her the way they do. She rebels in earnest, smoking, drinking and partying. She falls in love and is devastated to be betrayed by her best friend.

Inevitably she is led down the dark path of drug-taking. But with her innate decency, Millie is repelled when she sees the world she has fallen into, and she moves to another city, determined to make a new start. She works hard, and is proud of the little flat she is able to rent.

Millie, ever the survivor, recovers from one blow after another. Her loving heart makes her firm friendships, and her life seems almost too good to be true when she meets the man of her dreams.

But will the final tragedy in her life be too much for her to bear?
