Eternity Delayed and Stolen Weekend
Eternity Delayed is a thought-provoking tale of regret, remorse and reincarnation that throws into stark light many of the most fundamental questions concerning mankind's mortality and purpose. When Richard Hyam wakes up with the body and identity of another man, Jim Davies, he finds himself unable to remain with his wife and son, and feels compelled to seek out his old life. Thus he sets foot upon a tragic course of action, the result of which is a very far cry from his original intentions.
Stolen Weekend is a short and easily staged play which takes us to the very different world of an RAF camp just after the Second World War. Based on the author's own experiences of National Service, the play delves into the lives, loves and desires of the widely disparate characters who have been thrown together by chance and historical circumstance. Far from being exciting or useful, all the men find their service dull and essentially pointless, a situation exacerbated by the chronic lack of leave they are granted. When the true seriousness of the situation is highlighted by the suicide of one comrade and an attempt to desert by another, the men seek desperate solutions to obtaining a 'stolen weekend' with their families and friends in the outside world.
Eternity Delayed
A novella
When Richard Hyam awakes to find himself inhabiting the body of another man he is determined to get to the truth and become reunited with his real family. He does not know that the true tragedy of the situation is yet to come.
Stolen Weekend
A play
The men in the RAF billet hut are unhappy with their lot: tedious fatigues, an over-zealous Flight Sergeant and no sign of leave any time soon all combine to push them to desperate measures and to risk military prison or worse in an attempt to leave the base and see their friends and family.
