Cupboard Love
"Perfect for the kitchen or bedside table!"
Aldo Zilli,
Celebrity Chef and author
"A unique style that I can only compare with such notable wits as Peter Ustinov and David Niven."
www.mostlyfood.co.uk
We all eat to live. Some of us live to eat. CUPBOARD LOVE is the delicious story of a life-long love affair with food and feeding those you love. Memorable meals punctuate Laura Lockington's nostalgic foodie memoir. From the first tang of home made lemonade sipped on a perilous picnic with great aunts to bread sauce perfected in the warmth of her mother's Cornish kitchen and forbidden fruits in Florence. Chocolate Rose Leaves, Thunder Tea and some mighty dangerous mussels. A husband (or two), eccentric relatives and adventures in and out of the kitchen. It's a recipe for a rich and riotous life. Bon appetite!

"This is the first of Laura Lockington?s books that I have read but it won?t be the last. She has a unique style that I can only compare with such notable wits as Peter Ustinov and David Niven. There are very few truly amusing books around but this deserves to be at the head of the list. A real chuckle but also a warm and human story."
Author: Bryony Hill
"I started reading it that night and have jealously snatched secretive minutes to read more, and more and MORE. The only problem is I am loving it so much that I want to slow down - the end is near and that will be devastating! I think it is quite the most enjoyable thing I have ever read and I put it on a par with my very favourite, bestest book, I Capture the Castle. I can see Topaz in your mother, your uncles an amalgam of the father - I can smell, feel the food, France, Cornwall - it is too delicious for words - and what words! I go to sleep at night praying that one day I might be able to write like you. I shall give it to all my friends - no, I'll even give it to people I don't know! They deserve to read and digest its contents - it brings sheer joy and made me laugh out loud. Congratulations. When does the film come out????!"
